The Uranium J Show!

Today's VEDA question was "If your life were a Netflix mini-series, what genre would it be?"

I really enjoyed this question, and I don't know that my video did it justice. I'm feeling rather tired today - a result of doing a 5K on the treadmill last night, a new medication that deprived me of sleep, and possible caffeine withdrawal (I admit nothing). I did my best in the video, but I feel it could have been a stronger effort.

But! What the video lacked, perhaps this blog seeks to add. You see, there were several genres that I considered but did not discuss in the interest of brevity. This is what blogs are for. We shall discuss them now. It should be noted that even though I no longer live there, I see all of these shows being set in Crescent City, Florida.

Streamline Road

Join Uranium J and all her friends and neighbors as she grows up and learns important life lessons. Nimmaway the kitty cat teaches her about the importance of eating healthy foods and getting lots of exercise. Uranium J's kooky neighbor shows her the importance of keeping your room neat and tidy. Ghost Town shows us all how to play the ukelele. And on a very special episode Uranium J learns from her friend Xsty to "Just Say No" to drugs and alcohol.

A  PBS style show for pre-schoolers based on Sesame Street.

The White Trash and Clippy Show

White Trash (Xsty) and Clippy (Uranium J) are always able to find new adventures, despite living in Crescent City. Life is only as boring as you are and White Trash and Clippy are never boring. What's boring about using a carrot to cool your hemorrhoids and peeing in the sink? Or, better yet, peeing in the yard! Indoor plumbing and good taste is for other people. Pour some Skol into your Crystal Light and enjoy, America.

Crescent City VFD

Uranium J's older sister is a First Responder with the Crescent City Volunteer Fire Department. Riding along with her sister to local football games, Uranium J learns all about the gritty underbelly of the small town she grew up in through the eyes of the local firefighters, EMTs, and police. Things aren't always what they seem . . .

A Crime Drama/Procedural - but with heart!

In Search of the Bardin Booger

Join Uranium J and Mojo Jojo as they search, not for the Bardin Booger himself, but for the fabled "Bardin Booger" t-shirt from Bud's Grocery Store. Along the way they meet a host of colorful characters and gain a new appreciation for where they come from and for "The Inigmatic Bardin Booger." Learn about "Boog" along with them as Uranium J and Mojo Jojo scour the swamp in search of their bounty. Will their quest be fruitful? Watch and see!

A Documentary. Not a Mockumentary. I hate those.
Mojo and Uranium J Make a Movie

Speeding! Hydroplaning! Grave Robbing! Trespassing! The laughs just never ends when Mojo and Uranium J set out to make a movie. Watch our intrepid heroes as they stop at nothing to become indie film icons. With only one month until the Houston International Film Festival, Mojo and Uranium J have to finish the film and there's no authority figure (and no swill) strong enough to stand in their way.

Comrades

Uranium J is just an ordinary teenager trying to survive the trials of Crescent City High with the help of her boyfriend, Ghost Town and her two best friends, Mojo Jojo and AshLayHay. Hijinks ensue each week as Uranium J tries to make a place for herself at the "cool kids table" despite the fact that she unabashedly marches to the beat of her own drum. Thankfully, no matter what she gets herself into, at the end of the day her friends will always have her back.

(I love these people, but they are not the people I based my characters on.)
I feel very much like I had more to say about this, but I am exhausted. Maybe I'll follow up later. For now, sleep.
